Settlers 1 remake

Here’s a quick preview of something I’ve been working on.

As you can see, it uses the graphics from the original game. It is beginning to approach a state where it’s actually playable. Here’s some more screens for your viewing pleasure:

Do you know about the widelands project?

Wow, that is very very good news :)
For me Settlers is better of all settler series (I like settler 4 too but it’s different, I like Settler 6 but it’s not a settlers game). I dream to see one day a version with amiga sound & music, widescreen resolution and multiplayer/coop support UDP/TCP.
Good luck, I will fallow your progress :)

Looks great. Settlers 1 was the best Settlers of all times, with its total focus on civilian stuff and lack of military options. And its soundtrack is still something I used to put on when I am feeling nostalgic. Whatever you do, please make sure it remains possible to use the original Settlers 1 graphics and music!

    Hey,

Great to see someone else creating a remake of S1.
As you can see on my website http://www.vanmensel.be, I also started on creating a remake a few years ago but I didn’t find the time to finish it.
    Keep up the good work!

Wow, thats awsome! Please finish that work!
I’m still playing S1 on a 386 with DOS, but a version having a multiplayer option via network would be much better that the good old spliscreen.
I hope you will release a playable version some day!

This looks great – I still play the Amiga version on WinUAE. Looking forward to seeing a playable version.
